Driving the Wood Brothers Mercury Cyclone, Yarborough had an impressive 1968 season, winning six prestigious events including the Daytona 500 and Southern 500. In the 1968 Daytona 500, he drove the Wood Brothers #21 Cyclone to victory, which was his first win of the season and also brought the Wood Brothers their second Daytona win.
